Welfie Partnering with Labs to Provide Free Test to Stay COVID testing
San Diego, February 8, 2022: Welfie, the “wellness selfie”, health equity platform that serves vulnerable communities, is partnering with labs across the country to provide a free Test to Stay COVID testing program to schools and businesses so they can continue to operate during the pandemic. Partnering with labs who bill such tests back to insurance companies, Medicare and/or through the Cares Act, helps Welfie make inroads into new markets and expand its offerings to help lift the health and wellbeing of disadvantaged communities at no cost to them.
For lab partners, like California-based Pangea Labs, Welfie provides two critical pieces of infrastructure they lacked: the ability to quickly and easily communicate procedures and results with those who have been tested, and also to support Spanish language communities and employees. Additionally, communities testing with Welfie get access to our whole health platform, so their employees and students aren’t just testing, but they additionally get access to resources on mental health, heart health and more.
“Partnering with labs makes perfect sense,” said Dr. Steven Moyo, CEO and founder of Welfie. “There is still a great deal of mistrust within black and brown communities towards doctors and scientists. As a black physician, it’s important to me that vulnerable people are getting the tests they need so they can keep their jobs and stay in school – and Welfie can do this in a culturally competent way.”
As the pandemic rages on and many remain unvaccinated, experts agree that Test to Stay, where the unvaccinated are tested frequently and other COVID protocols are followed, is one of the best ways to keep workers employed and students in school.
Founded by two black doctors, Welfie helps communities lift their people into better health and wellbeing so they can live better, happier lives. Pangea Labs are the providers of high quality testing services to the biomedical communities.
