Celebrate International Transgender Day of Visibility
Today is International Transgender Day of Visibility. We’re celebrating and acknowledging the contributions and achievements of transgender people while also raising awareness about the struggles they continue to face.
The day aims to bring visibility to the trans community, which often faces discrimination, marginalization, and violence. Transgender individuals have historically been silenced and excluded from society, and today is reminder that we need to continue to change this by amplifying the voices of transgender people and their experiences.
But while we celebrate their accomplishments, we must acknowledge the continued struggles they face. Transgender people are still subjected to discrimination in employment, housing, healthcare, and education. Additionally, transgender individuals are disproportionately affected by violence, including hate crimes, harassment, and physical assault.
By taking action to create a more inclusive environment, we can help build a better world for all.
